Webster KC Grad Enjoys Extraordinary Experience with London Global Hybrid Class

Regent's University, London
When Delisa Moss (MA HRMG ‘12) saw the opportunity to visit to Webster University’s London campus, she quickly signed up! Delisa works for a multinational company and wanted to expand her expertise in international relations and learn about other cultures.

Walker Global Hybrid Courses were developed for adult learners like Delisa. Classes are held online for eight weeks and include one week travel to a variety of worldwide destinations. Delisa chose the Global Hybrid course, Leadership for Global Citizenship (MNGT 5870), with one week at Webster University’s partner campus, Regent's University in London. She received the Walker Travel Award, and received up to $1000 toward her travel expenses.

For the online portion of the class, Delisa utilized Canvas to communicate with the London-based professors and students from all over the world. At the Regent’s University campus, Delisa and her classmates participated in a simulation of running a country where she was elected president!

Corporate visits included the London offices of global media giant Bloomberg L.P., Chatham House, home of the Royal Institute of International Affairs, where world leaders meet to discuss significant developments in international affairs.

Webster students participated in a symposium taped by the BBC, “The Rise of New Superpowers.” Side trips included visits to the British Museum, the London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Delisa extended her travels to Paris. "My roommate, April, an MBA student at Webster University-Little Rock, and I were able to add a few days to our trip to travel by Eurostar train to Paris," added Delisa.

When asked about what lessons learned from her global hybrid experience translated to her everyday work, Delisa responded, “We learned to respect diversity, build relationships, rely on each other and overcome challenges, just to name a few.”

Delisa describes her Webster Global Hybrid class as a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience and encourages anyone interested in international business relations and other cultures to take advantage of this unique Webster opportunity.
